The purpose of our curriculum at Hose Church of England Primary School is to open the door to the world beyond our village for our children. We want children who leave Hose Primary School to be full of knowledge and wonder for the world they live in and ready to take on challenges with confidence and pride.

We recognise that for our youngest pupils in school, within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we are beginning the building blocks to the start of their education journey and the opening of this door. The aims of our EYFS curriculum are to instil in our young learners a love for learning, in an environment where the children are unafraid to ask questions, find out and be direct instigators of their learning journey.  

We provide a well-planned and well-resourced environment that supports our children to achieve the Characteristics of Effective Learning, which are the essential puzzle pieces to creating lifelong learners. We identify key skills and knowledge progress throughout the year and identify themes for learning within each term, whilst also making careful consideration of how our school curriculum links to the EYFS, to ensure a well-rounded knowledge base for our children entering into Key Stage 1.
